Zombieland: Double Tap Review
Updated: Nov 14, 2019
‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ starts off slow, if not downright terrible, but then settles into a fun popcorn flick about 20 minutes in, which is about the best thing you can expect.
I was not a big fan of the first movie, half because of spite (a long story I’ll pen later), half because I’m not a big fan of Jesse Eisenberg playing Michael Cera (where did he disappear to by the way?) All the gang from the first movie is back and it’s more of the same from them. However, there are a couple of new characters that add to the chemistry, Zoey Duetch’s “Madison” absolutely steals the show. Fun Fact: Zoey is the daughter of ‘Back to the Future’s Lea Thompson.
The plot is predictable, but fine. The acting is fine, not great. And the zombie action is actually a bit disappointing, but this movie is like 80% comedy and 20% action horror, so what are you going to do? Also, I doubt anyone is getting consideration for anything from this movie.
Verdict: Zombie movie fans will like this one as long as they don’t take it seriously. It might be hit or miss for the average person, depending on your sense of humor.
*Note, stick around, there are 2 mid-credits scenes and the first one is hysterical.*
