A Stumble off the Starting Block
Updated: Nov 14, 2019
I’d like to start this week’s post with an enormous thank you to all of my friends who read, commented, and reached on about my first blog post last week. It was very unexpected and extremely humbling, and I thank all of you who are now following my journey…
WEEK 1 Grade: D
While I’m sure a few of you are going to think I’m crazy based off the stats, I had a terrible week in terms of getting back on the keto lifestyle. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were fine, if not great … but then Halloween happened and I undid everything I started. On Halloween alone I had sushi for lunch (fine normally, not great on low-carb), Totino's Party Pizza for dinner (way better than it had any business being), and at least 50 pieces of candy. Yikes.
Friday I was good, but I went right back to cheat meals on the weekend. However, I kept my calories below the danger threshold, so I limited the damage. I'm not going to lie, my Saturday dinner of fried fish, shrimp, clams, and scallops was incredible. It was nice to have a proper date day with Ryanne, even if it were a good excuse to stuff my face full of fried food.
Why does bad food have to be soooooo good? Damn.
I’m going into week 2 with a clear path in mind and I think a good plan. Also, because of my original post, I was able to connect with a friend who is struggling with many of the same issues I am. Because of that, we've agreed to be a proper accountability buddy for each other, and I think it's going to be an amazing partnership for this journey.
WEEK 2 Goals
Diet: No excuses, I’m going to stick with my keto diet the entire week and intermittently fast every day. Even if I overeat, it’s going to be low-carb overeating.
Exercise: I’m going to get out and walk at least a mile 3 times this week.
Mental Health: Besides this blog post, I want to write at least one post about my struggles I’ve been going through and what I can do to help it.
